Now that you actually know the basics, let me walk you through the steps required to open a BDO savings account in the Philippines.
1. Choose the type of the BDO savings account you really want to open.
BDO offers a huge variety of savings accounts that will cater your particular needs.

2. Applicants need to fill out an online application.
To apply, applicants must now fill out an online application form before they visit their nearest BDO branch.
To access BDO, go to bdo.com.ph. Select “Accounts” from left side of the page and then “How to Open an Account.”
You can start an application by clicking the yellow button.
Please read the Terms and Conditions and answer the simple math problem below. Select the checkbox that says “I have read and understood the terms and conditions herein.” Finally, click “I agree.”
You’ll be prompted whether you’re opening a BDO account for the first time or if you’re an existing BDO customer or account holder with or without an online banking account. Depending on your situation, select the appropriate option.
Then click the “Next” button.
Put your personal information in the online application. Additionally, you will be able to select when you will do the transaction and which branch you will use.
When completed, you can proceed to your preferred BDO branch to submit the requirements and complete the application process.
3. BDO branches can be found near you.
It is best to open a BDO savings account near you. Check our article to know the list of BDO Branche .
You can locate the nearest BDO branch using our branch locator.
Banking hours are typically 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at most branches. Some of them operate on Saturdays as well, some operating Monday through Friday.
Weekend hours are available at BDO branches inside SM malls (including on Sundays). The mall’s hours of operation are 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM – the same time as their banking hours.
4. Go to “New Account” and fill out the application.
There is no need to fill out another form when you arrive at your preferred branch because you already completed the application online (see step #3).
You will be required to submit three identical signature specimens.
You do not require ID pictures since most BDO branches have cameras for capturing images.
After submitting the required information and making the initial deposit for the account, the bank officer will then inform you when your account will be activated and when you can come back to claim your passbook, ATM, or both.
5. The BDO savings account will be activated once it has been approved.
The activation of an account usually takes place within 1 to 2 days following the date of application.
Generally, only five to seven banking days pass between when a passbook and ATM are issued.
Activate your ATM card by following these steps once you have been issued one:
Your new BDO card can be inserted into any BDO ATM.
“Other Services.” will appear.
Choosing the “PIN Change” option and entering your personal identification number (PIN).
Select a PIN for yourself.
Your PIN should be re-entered.
Don’t forget to keep the receipt once the new PIN is generated.
Call BDO Customer Contact Center at 631-8000 or visit your BDO branch where your savings account was opened with questions concerning account activation.
6. Log in to BDO Online Banking to access your savings account.
Once you activate your BDO savings account, you will be able to access BDO online banking. You already signed up for online banking via the online application form you completed earlier.
