Recover your BDO account number by following these steps
You can retrieve your bank account number if you’ve lost it or forgotten it
You may want to transfer money to your BDO savings account, but you don’t remember the account number. Before you leave the house and go to the bank, be aware that there are several ways to find your BDO account number if you have lost it. Here’s how we can help.
Every BDO depositor or account holder is assigned a unique BDO account number consisting of 10 or 12 digits. Having multiple account numbers is acceptable at BDO as we offer several accounts including an ATM savings account, a passbook savings account, a time deposit account, and more. The Over-the-counter and the online banking transactions, including deposits and withdrawals, require the bank account number.
In a nutshell, a bank account number identifies a deposit or savings account and ensures that money reaches the rightful owner. Provide the accurate and correct bank account number; otherwise, funds transferred to your account may be delayed, returned to the sender, or even worse, end up in another person’s account.
Account number vs. BDO ATM card number
Account numbers are different from ATM card numbers. While the ATM card number has 16 digits, the bank account number only has 10 or 12 digits. Bank Identification Numbers are the first six digits of ATM card numbers. Visa numbers usually begin with “4”, while MasterCard numbers begin with “51” or “55.”
An ATM card from BDO
Because ATM cards typically expire after five years, BDO ATM card numbers are only temporary and are changed when you can get a new card, wherein the bank account numbers are in fact permanent and last for as long as the account is open.
That way, your bank account will be more secure. There is a problem, however, because instead of looking at your ATM card, you will have to search for your account number somewhere else. If you do not know where to look, it could take you a whole day to find out your BDO account number.
The good news there is that you actually can find your BDO account number even if you have forgotten it. Whenever you recover your own bank account number, make it a point to copy or even save it in a good and secure location such as a private notebook or online note-taking app like Evernote.
